action plan 3

smart target 3:
something I needed to improve for this assessment was my overall balance, to improve this technical skill I will do a variety of ballet exercises at the barre including:
- demi
- grand plié,
-arabesque
-,attitude,
-elevé
-relevé
-turning(spotting)

which I will do 4 times a week for an hour over four weeks, also I will monitor my progress by asking someone to take photos and videos of me doing these exercises. I aim to improve my balance by our final performance, however I will continue to these exercises as a way of always improving my balance.

date reviewed :2nd February
At the start the four weeks my balance needed improving, and after doing these exercises my balance has improved massively,i can see that my balance has improved as my arabesques were poor to start with but after the four weeks are now stronger and much higher .

action plan 2

Smart target 2:

another weakness in this assignment was my flexibility in my left leg, to improve this skill I will do the left splits and a variety of other exercises such as;
-grand battement's
-high kicks
-I will also lie on the floor with my legs in a open 'v' shape against the wall.

I will do this 4 times a week for ten minutes over a period of four weeks. To monitor my progress I will ask someone to take pictures of me doing the exercises. I aim to improve my flexibility by our final  performance; but I will continue to do these exercises as a way of always improving my flexibility as it is a important technical skill.

date reviewed :2nd February
at the start of the four weeks I had very little flexibility in left leg and my kicks were poor but now after doing the exercises listed above I can go down into my left splits fully and am starting to overstretch, also my kicks have become stronger and higher.

action plan 1

Smart target 1:
One of my weaknesses in this assignment was my alignment, to improve this technical skill I will arrange extra rehearsals, three times a week for a period of four weeks. I will use the mirrors every week for 2-3 hours. To monitor my progress, I will record my rehearsals on DVD at the start of the training sessions and the end of the four week period. The exercises I will perform as part of my plan are as follows:
-plies in 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th position
-port de bras
and arabesques.

I will also ask my peers to watch my rehearsals and give me feed back . I aim to improve my alignment by our last rehearsal before our final performance.

date reviewed: 2nd February

rehersal 4

dancers present:
Maia Hilja Roberts,Matilda Rowland,Georgee Wood, Beth Cliffton,Beth Duro.

in this rehersal we worked on perfecting the choreography for our performance the next day.
we worked on dynamics and facial expressions so that our final performance was complete. We also worked on the timing and quality of our dancing and to do this we individually worked on things. For me, it was projection and emphasis when performing.

we also started going over old dance routines of different styles that we could perform for our assessment the next day,i started to choreograph myself a lyrical/contemporary routine with elements from other routines I have performed of competitions in the past as that is my main dance style.

in this rehearsal we focused mainly on perfecting the choreography so that we are performing it good stylistically. Individually, I was working on my alignment which is something ms Graham said I needed to improve on and getting the dynamics right as jazz is very fast, low and heavy so I was working on getting that right. I have also been working on my posture and my facial expressions when I am performing.

workshop 9

in this workshop we were focusing mainly on perfection the choreography in section 3 and 4 and  performing choreography at exam standard and making sure that we execute our moves with the correct dynamics.

we had a double lesson so we spent the first hour learning a tap warm up and learning some tap technique and then putting it to music and getting the timing right, we then spent the second hour of the workshop perfecting out all that jazz number and working on things individually such as our musicality, dynamic range and projection.

strengths: movement memory and having improved on my special awareness.
